Ars Captiva
/ ARS CAPTIVA / The CREO committee was founded in 2006. It was the first time in Italy that a network of art schools had ever been set up to develop common projects inspired by the concepts of citizenship and democracy, showcasing each school's special characteristics and strengths. The committee is made up of the five Turin-based state schools that were behind the first edition of Ars Captiva, in 2007, which took place in the Le Nuove former prison complex: the Albertine Academy of Fine Arts, Primo art school, Renato Cottini art school, the Aldo Passoni art institute and the Albe Steiner professional institute. The aim is to educate students through experience attained outside school, so as to experiment with techniques directly influenced by contemporary art practices in a multidisciplinary context.
